About Us

Rich & Mary Ann

What happens when you put a wild and crazy guy together with a smart, sweet, and passionate girl?
You get the Breshears!

Rich and Mary Ann met at the University of Idaho. Rich was a wild and crazy tuba player, studying to become a music teacher and social worker. Mary Ann joined the color guard in the marching band as a fun experience to get away from her studies in Family and Consumer Science. They met on the 50-yard line 5 days a week, and at games, and eventually, the polar opposite couple fell in love. They have thoroughly enjoyed 34 years of an amazing life together and have five kids and eleven grandchildren spread all over the U.S. The Breshears enjoy spending time with their family and friends camping, hiking, and enjoying wine and good food in their backyard with those they love.

Their foray into photography began before they met. Mary Ann completed her Girl Scout merit badges in photography as a kid, and Rich collected cameras and loved taking images with his antique cameras. Over time the hobbies collided into a profession. They began taking senior portraits for friends’ kids and enjoyed the Saturday night freedom of getting a babysitter for the kids so they could photograph the occasional wedding.

In 2000, Rich’s inner crazy guy decided that he was done doing social work and operating elder care facilities. They got a business license and officially opened Breshears Professional Photography out of their home. Starting out part-time, then full-time, and then adding on multiple amazing team members over the years to make Breshears Professional Photography the leading studio in South Eastern Washington.

Over 21 years the Breshears’ success has blossomed through continued education and hard work. Rich is a Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, Certified Professional Photographer, and Fellow of Photography. Mary Ann is a Photographic Craftsman and Associate Fellow of Photography. Both have had multiple successes in state and international competitions. They are both active members of Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of Washington. Rich currently serves PPA as a counselor and as a CPP liaison.

The Breshears have a huge passion for both the photographic industry as well as the power of the family. Each day they wake up ready to serve another family through fun family-bonding sessions and the artwork that results from families laughing and playing together.

Mary Sargent

Mary joined the Breshears team in 2020 as part of our phone team.  She has grown into the manager of our customer service team and one of our leading salespeople.  Her past work at the Met in Seattle was a perfect fit for our desire to photograph Russell Wilson.  Russell doesn’t hang around the Met anymore, and neither does Mary.  She’s here.  She’s funny.  And, we love having her as part of our team.  Mary loves dolls, video games, and her hunky boyfriend Dan.

Heather Sheets

Heather’s relationship with Breshears Photography began in 2004 when we photographed her wedding to her wonderful husband Pat.  She spent 20+ years in the hospitality industry in hotel operations.  Having her join us in client relations has been a wonderful gift to both us and our clients.
